Romania va deveni cel mai mare producator european de porumb, detronand Franta. O performanta comentata de Le Monde, care vorbeste de o vampirizare a pietei.
Romania ar urma sa recolteze in acest an intre 14,5 si 15 milioane tone de porumb, comparativ cu doar 11,8 milioane de tone cat va recolta Franta, estimeaza Asociatia generala a producatorilor de porumb (AGPM). „Agricultorii francezi nu au reusit sa evite puterea romaneasca. Tara lui Dracula vampirizeaza piata europeana a porumbului sau, cel putin, o domina…Nu este chiar o surpriza. Gurmanzii stiu ca, daca polenta (terci din faina de porumb) este apanajul regiunii muntilor Apenini, acest fel de mancare gustoasa poarta numele de mamaliga in Carpati. Dar investitorii din Romania nu se gandesc doar la apetitul compatriotilor lor. Profitul mare din cerealele galbene este rezultat din export”, scrie publicatia franceza.
Productia de porumb a Frantei a fost afectata de inundatiile din primavara care au intarziat plantarea, apoi caldura din vara a uscat terenurile. „Ministerul Agriculturii confirma ceea ce scrie publicatie franceza. Romania va fi si anul acesta pe primul loc la cultura porumbului, insa datele finale le vom furniza la incheierea recoltatului, intrucat pana la aceasta data din suprafata insamantata s-a recoltat 87%”, a transmis ministrul Petre Daea. In 2017, Romania a raportat o productie totala de cereale de aproape 27 de milioane de tone, adica 1,4 tone pe fiecare roman, cu recorduri istorice la grau, mazare, orz, floarea-soarelui, soia, porumb, cartofi, struguri si porumb.
