”Suntem socati”, a reactionat un avocat al Uber, care a precizat ca firma va face apel la decizia magistratilor italieni, estimand ca aceasta a fost luata pe baza unei legislatii invechite si ca guvernul Italiei ”traieste in trecut”, privandu-i pe italieni de ”beneficiile noilor tehnologii”. Daca apelul nu va fi facut in zece zile, Uber trebuie sa-si abandoneze exploatarea aplicatiei, sub amenintarea unor amenzi de 10.000 de dolari pe zi pentru soferii care vor continua sa ruleze. Justitia a considerat ca soferii de taxiuri clasice au mai multe cheltuieli de amortizat decat soferii Uber, neputand concura nici la nivelul preturilor. Cu Italia, Uber este pe cale sa-ti piarda una din cele mai importante piete din Europa, dupa de in 18 aprilie va trebui sa se retraga si din Danemarca. Dupa ce a aterizat pe batranul continent, pe fondul unor legislatii ambigue, Uber s-a confruntat cu multiple restrictii. In Germania, spre exemplu, este interzis in Hamburg, Frankfurt si Dusseldorf. Serviciul UberPop este inerzis si el in majoritatea tarilor europene.
